Community Missions of St. Joseph is a non-profit organization located in downtown St. Joseph, MO. The group began in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) organization and safe haven. The group aims to help chronically homeless men to transition from surviving night to night on the street to living comfortably in a home with responsibilities, a schedule and any necessary support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Community Missions is more than just an organization, though. The non-profit acts more like a neighborhood, offering chronically homeless residents all their resources in a hub. The Community Missions campus consists of three buildings: The Haven, Juda House and the cold weather shelter known as "My Brother's House." Together, the campus creates wraparound services for St. Joseph's chronically homeless population.

Recently, Community Missions announced the opening of their new 24-hour shelter, which had been in the works for several months. The non-profit received a $200,000 grant from Buchanan County and Mosaic Life Care to provide resources for chronically homeless residents year-round.

Offering a safe place to rest, creating stability in a daily routine, connecting them with resources to help with their mental or physical disabilities and proving there are people who care about their wellbeing: this is what Community Missions offers the men on the street who too often feel they’ve been forgotten.
